‘The Rhythmisation of the Breath’
«Breath and heart are interdependent;
therefore, one must unite the «Circulation of Light»
with the «Rhythmisation of the Breath».
In ancient times, «Initiation Rituals» were regarded as a rite of passage into adulthood and as a test and trial to assume responsibility within society. These rituals served, and continue to serve to this day, the purpose of admission into secret societies and mysteries, and of preparation for a higher state of being. What is usually overlooked here is the «conscious creation of a near-death state» in the body and psyche of the subject or adept.
In Yoga and in the «Secret of the Golden Flower», this is achieved through «Pranayama» or the «Rhythmisation of Breath and Heartbeat». At the advanced stage of this practice, the practitioner attains ever greater stillness – «breath and pulse slow down until they come to a standstill».
In this way, the “Rhythmisation of the Breath” enables one to approach a «Near-Death State», which helps to overcome the separation between this world and the next and allows us to learn about «Dying» during our lifetime and to explore the reality of the Subtle World.
